![[ 1X2 ] depend on the application of a variety of ftimulants to the eye, of fuch a ftrength, and repeated as often, as may be fufficient to keep up a moderate, but perpetual, irri- tation. 3. Warts and tumours on the lids are mentioned as another cause of inflamma- tion. Warts, after arriving at a certain fize, generally fuppurate and disappear; but if they are productive of pain, they fhould be removed. If the warts are attached to the lids by a fmall pedicle, they may be cut off with a thread, or more expeditiously by a pair of fcifsors, or a fcalpel. It is those, however, in general, with a large broad base, that we are consulted about.
