Abforption often goes on flowly, and the blood is feveral weeks in disappearing, to the great uneasi- nefs of the patient; the ferum is first ab- sorbed, and the blood becomes darker co-- loured, and almost livid ; it then gradually changes, and goes through all the inter- mediate {hades of colour, from a very dark, to a greenish yellow hue, and. thence to its natural appearance. 3. Warts and encysted tumours of differ- ent kinds, fituated on the litis, are frequently the cause of inflammation. Some people, but more especially children, have repeated crops of warts on the lids, that are commonly fituated towards the edge of them; and which, by their irritation, induce inflamma- tion. The tumours that are met with on the lids are various in their fize, and in the appearance -of their contents, and on that account have had different*names given to them by authors.
