    A N ABSTRACT, &c. IT is well known that Dr. Graham was mod regularly brought up to the profeffion of Medicine at the juftiy celebrated Umver- fity of Edinburgh, and that for many years paft. he has travelled over mod parts of the world, with the view of bringing to perfection this molt ufeful and molt honourable art. His new and improved methods of curing the mod rooted and mod dangerous difeaies, coniilt in regimen, herbs, fimple medicines, the choiceft articles of the Materia Medica and sethereai efiences, rendered more falutary and aCtive by the molt powerful vital agents in natupe; and the great numbers who daily by thefe means are cured radically of the molt dangerous and molt confirmed difeafes, are really aftomfhing even after they have been turned incurable out of hofpitals, and given over by the molt celebrated of thofe phyficians, who are fettered and confined in the regular trammels of the Medical craft or art. Dr. Graham, therefore, for the public good, as well as for his own honour and emolument, thinks it his duty to depart from what is called the regular mode, by thus publicly announcing his iritention of praCtifing in this town and neighbourhood, and laying before them the following cures for the information and encouragement of the afflicted. Fourteen cures in obftinate and fevere maladies, eipecially m the gout, confirmed dead palfies, rheumatifms, &c. which Dr. Grajiam lately had the high honour of performing immediately under the eye, and of having attefted by the hand-writing of the Prince of Hefte- Caffel! the Duchefs of Devonfhire! Lord and Lady Spencer! &c. &c. 15. Mrs. Catharine Macaulay Graham, the juftiy celebrated hif- torian (fifter to John Sawbridge, Efq; Member of Parliament for the city of London) cured of that variety of fymptoms which accom¬ pany a relaxed fyftem, and an irritable Irate of nerves, viz. pains in the ftomach, indigeftion, trembling of the nerves, fhiveiing fits, repeated pains in her ears and throat, and continual agitations oi body and mind, which had reduced a conftitution, originally delicate, to an almoft infupportabie degree of weaknefs and debility. Thefe complaints had been brought on or increafed by a feven years fevere application, in writing her invaluable Hiftory of England, of which eight volumes in quarto are already publifhedh
