Take part in research

Two carved wooden statues of Saint Adrien (Drien), Breton saint invoked against intestinal ailments and from 12th century onwards against the plague. In one statue he holds his entrails. They were purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1934 and 1928 respectively and were accessioned in 1938 (accession numbers R443/1938  and R429/1938). They are not held by Wellcome Collectiom.
