![Fine copy, with wide margins, ornamental initials in alternating red and blue. Some leaves show the track of a bookworm, and at rare intervals are stains from flowers that have been placed between some of the leaves. Johan Michael Savonarola was a professor at Padua and Ferrara from 1434. Died about I46o(?). He was the grandfather of the famed Jerome Savonarola of Florence. He was a close follower of the Arabists, especially of Avicenna. The first edition of his monumental book, Practica de Egritu- dinibus, was published at Colle in 1479 by Bonus Gallus. In 1486 it was republished at Venice by Andreas de Bonetis, of which edition the present volume is a magnificent example.
