Biographical note

The final treatise was transcribed by Benedictus Hermannus de Bulach in 1464, while he was studying medicine at Padua; most of the others were written by him later, at Strasbourg. Pasted on the inside of the upper cover is a portion of a document written at the University of Padua relating to the appointment of Nicolas de Panviatis as Beadle, dated 28 February 1400. Inside the lower cover are portions of two documents, one in German dated 1473, the other in Latin dated 1465, both relating to the Church of St. Peter Junior in Strasbourg.
