Maternat Fdortafity.—d'here were three maternal deaths in l‘d-13, giving a maternal mortality rate of o.o per total births. In Jbdl there were no maternal deaths, whilst the maternal mor- tality rate for 19hl was l.o2 and for IPotl 1.B9. Puerperal Pyrexia.—Seven cases of Puerperal Pyrexia were notified, and there w'as one death. Two cases were removed to the Florence Nightingale Hospital for treatment. Ophthalmia Neonatorum.-—Four cases of Ophthalmic Neona- torum were notified during the year, the rate per 1,000 live births lieing 4.7,-as compared with 10.G per 1,0(X) births in 1011.
