![ADULTERATION, ETC. Sampling under Food and Drugs Acts, 1938—1950. The Lancashire County Council administered the above, and I am indebted to Dr. S. C. Gawne, County Medical Officer of Health, for the following particulars of samples taken within the district. A total of 185 samples was obtained. Of these 149 were of milk (this total includes 22 Channel Islands milks), and the 36 others comprised :— 2 Double cream 2 Lard 1 Coffee 3 Baking powder 1 Pork and beef sausage 1 Pork sausage 1 Beef sausage 1 Flour 1 Curry powder 1 Liquid paraffin 3 AVhiskey 2 Gin 1 Orange drink 1 Milk condensed full cream, unsweetened 1 Cream, canned 1 Epsom salts 1 Boracic ointment 1 Butter 1 Margarine 1 Cheese 1 Dripping 2 Tincture of iodine 3 Penicillin tablets 1 Cloves 1 Cinnamon ground 1 Mixed spice.
