About this work

Description

A quiet and intensely concentrated documentary in which consultant surgeon Dr. Steve Hughes describes his experience as medical officer with the Second Parachute Regiment in the Falklands War. As a result he sustained Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which manifested itself when he returned to civilian life and was attempting to resume his hospital career. He analyses the causes of his illness and reveals a lack of understanding of PTSD among psychiatrists who have never experienced battle conditions.
