French in (nearly, but more nasal): Gollega, Guimaraes. Nearly French an--on (dissyllabic), but more nasal: Fundao. As in English. s before e and 7: S. Vicente; Cintra (some- times spelt Sintra); otherwise k: Castello Branco. Before a, 0, and uw: Braganca. sh: Monchique, Coruche. In words derived from Greek it = k: S. Christovdo.
