I have made a small fire, and, at a proper distance from my face, have melted in a small earthen vessel, about half a pound of catrama, to which in a fluid state I have added two drachms of carbonate of potass. The continuance of the fumigation did not extend to more than one quarter of an hour; and this I have repeated morning and evening.
