    i The last case occurred on July 9th, so that the outbreak lasted sixteen weeks and one ay: Rats were found infected with Plague as late as August 14th, 1904. Outside Johannesburg the first case occurred on March 31st at Benoni, this being the only case here. At Germiston there were eight cases, the first occurring on April Ist, and the last on May 20th. At Krugersdorp there was one case which occurred on April 14th. THE GENERAL FEATURES OF THE OUTBREAK.
