Blaikley.] The six Initial designs drawn by Lady Huggins have been in each case suggested by a leading idea in the Addresses which they severally introduce. The Initial design at the beginning of the Fourth Address consists of a Sketch Map of part of London c. 1600, showing the Globe Theatre of Shakespeare, which, built in 1594, was burnt down in 1613. Faithorne. 9. ,, Stow’s Survey, ist Edition ; and History of English Dramatic Poetry and Annals of the Stage, by J. P. Collier. The Bear-baiting House is shown in its earlier form, though by 1600 it had probably been rebuilt in close resemblance to the Globe Theatre, and provided with a movable stage, so that occasionally plays could be acted in it.
