The Mode of applying them for the removal of a Difeafe on the Human Body and Horfes, is explained, to the Comprehenfion of the fmalleft Capa¬ city, in a Paper of Directions, which accompanies the Tractors, npHE prefent reprefentationof PERKINS’s PATENT METAL- TRACTORS, is given through this medium with a view to fatisfy the Jaiiy applications made to the Patentee by his numerous Correfpondenfts, relpefting their form, bulk, the proper mode of conveying them, &c. &c, Tlie Obferver will here be enabled to form a ready idea of their very portable nature; and, confidering their durability and very extenhve efficacy in the removal of Difea- fes, now fo univerfally admitted, “ how neceffary are they fin the language of the Rev. Dr. Trotter) “ as a Remedy in every Family “ and efpecrally as a vadc weeum for Clergymen, whofe profeffional avocations lead them fo frequently among the afflicted.” An additional motive for the above reprefentation of the Genuine Trac lORs, are the impofitions which are not unfrequeatlv practifed by the fubfhtution of counterfeits. Thefe, though not'attempted f openly, have, in leveral instances, been privately put in circulation, by perfons interefted in depreciating the Credit of the Genuine Tractors, and confequently occafiontng their difule. As no benefit would be derived from fuch ipurious Imitations, the unfufpeaing patient, it has been fuppofed, would be fatisfied the inefficacy of the Metallic Practice. Such artifices, while they infrincre on the right of the Patentee, at the fame time defraud the Public ; and he muff therefore not I, 110 ghtumeaionably ffivere in determining to employ the means the Law affords, for the pievention of fuch abufes in future. As innocent artificers and tradefmen, from Trt°Z7u^heTntlire ofhls P^ent, which fecures every poffible external application he Metallic Influence in the removal of Difeafes, may be led into a violation of the law, by making fomething of a different fbape, &c. it is right to inform them that they are equally liable to damages with their employers. y T° ^iard.ag^infi Impofitions, applicants will pleafe to obferve, that every genuine Set of Traitors is (tamped with the words, Perkins Patent Tractors ; and, which will be the moff fure means of ^tectiog frauds, to the printed Directions for their ufe, w inch accompany them, is fubjoined a Receipt, figned, « Benjamin Douglas Perkins ” in the hand-writing of the Patentee. To counterfeit this is Felony. THE TRUCTORS Have been found a fafe, fpeedy and effectual Remedy in the following Disorders. Ai'iiU and Chronic R&emati/m, including Lumbago arid Sciatica, Gout*Sprains Con- tufions Burns, Scalds, Inflammations of the Eyes; alfo of the S/cm, as Erufmelas and Tetters; Painful Inflammatory Tumours, as Biles and W hit lows; Violent SpaA modic Convulfions ; as Epileptic Pits, Cramp and Locked Jaw ; Fleur fu; Stings and Bites of Venomous Injects, Fluor Alims; Pains in the Head, Face, Teeth Ears Breqft, Side, Back, Limbs, and all analogous Difeafes of Horfes. ’ ’ * In proof of the Efficacy of the Traitors in thefe Complaints, there have been publifh- ed, by the Patentee, during the laft three years, four different works, in which have been ipeilabi ity.
