The efficacious pro- tection of the Holy ApoMes who have pro- pagated, fuftained, and defended it at the ex- pence of a glorious martyrdom ; the zeal of a pallor who watches perfonally over the fafety of his flock, and who does not fpare any of the means that can be fuggefted by human wif- dom; have preferved us till now, and ren- der us fechre in regard to the future, againll the enterprifes of thofe devouring wolves, who would furprife and fwallow us up alive. We trull that it will pleafe God, that all the rell of the world, convinced by the un- fpeakable miferies of the prelent times, may be enabled to deliver themfelves from this dan-^ gerous contagion !
