![9] w DIPHTHERIA, On January 1st there was one case of this disease in hospital, a child set 6, on whom it had been necessary to perform tracheotomy 10 days previously. She was doing well, but died suddenly from paralysis of the heart on January 2nd. Of the 58 cases admitted during the year 4 died, the cause of death in each case being heart failure. In 6 cases it was necessary to perform tracheotomy. The ages of these cases : 15 months, 2 years, 8, 4, and two 5 years of age. Antitoxine was given in 25 cases.
