Whereas only the short duration of the Congress days was allotted to these two exhibitions which is to be deplored especially in regard to the Yuseum in view of the huge amount of work connected with it, at least a thürd. enterprise based on purely private initiative scems to be destined to form the nucleus and the basis of a permanent collection. I mean the tn Medical Nuseum which was organised by Mr. Henry + Wellcome (the owner of the well known fim Burrougks Wellcome & Co). I am sure that this Nuseum was the greatest surprise to every visitor owing to its enormously rich contents. Innumerable. articles illustrating the condition of ancient medicine, finäs in prehistorie graves, talismans and fetishes, also miceroscopic preparations of the Organisms causing tropical diseases, old apparatus and instruments some of which are of special ‚historic value, pictures, plaster casts, moulds, models of laboratories, chemist shops and hospital wards of olden times and many other things fill, in beautiful arrangement, the endless rooms, partly being the property of Mr. Wellcome: and partly having been lent for exhihition purposes, Such a show will undoubteäly stimulate the historical sense of medical men; and'the medical- historical section of the Congress (as far as I | know, .the first of its kind) has given special attention to this ee
