During office liours it can be obtained at the Town Hall, and at otlier times from the Police Stations in Victoria Street and Butler (jiuen. During- the year eighteen tubes of 2,000 units each were supplied. PUERPERAL FEVER.—No case was notified during the year. The previous year one case was noti- fied; this case recovered. ERYSIPELAS.—Thirty- six (-ases, including two at the (diadderton Camp, were notified during the year. No deaths occurred from this disease. The previous year twenty-seven notifications were received, and all the cases recovered. WHOOPING GOUGH.—Eleven deaths (four males, seven females) were registered from this disease, giving a death-rate of 0.43 per 1,000. Last year there were two deaths, giving a death-rate of 0.07 per 1,000. TUBERCULOSIS.—N inety-eight primary notifica- tions of this disease were received, 54 being of flie Pulmonary Eorm and 44 of Other Eorms. The ])reA4ous year 100 primary notifications were receHed, 49 being of the Pulmonary Eorm and 51 of the Otlier Eorms. This A^ear 33 deaths occurred from Pulmonarv Tuberculosis and five from Other Eorms, against 35 and 10 the previous year; the death-rates being 1.31 ])er 1,000 for the Pulmon- ary horni and 0.19 jrer 1,000 for the ()ther Eorms, against 1.33 and 0.38 per 1,000 respectiA-ely for the previous year. For 191G the death-rates were 1.04 and 0.41 per 1,000. There is no Sanatorium in the Distrit-t.
