    Loe thefe diforders, to confult other pratlitioners, or apply at fome hofpital, where they might have more advice than mine, But fince I formed the following plan, I have tried it ina : few cafes, in which I. am not difappointed:: thefe, though not yet ready for publication, are fufficient to warrant all that will be hereafter advanced. To what I have faid, give me leave to add, that I have-no doubt but that there are, at this moment, many iniecable fufferers wifhing ear- neftly for relief, fome, perhaps, for death itfelf, as their only deliverance! Under thefe confide- rations, and a well-grounded perfuafion, that. : what I offer will be ufeful, were I to wait till I could make up a colleétion of complete cures, merely to fupport what, I truft, will appear to every candid reader to be a rational and pro- bable means of giving that relief, I fhould con-. fider fuch delay as nothing lefs than a barbarous , peseneens for the prefent pain and mifery of the
