'riie attendance of parents present at the inspections was as follows :— “ Entrants ” 3fi.21 per cent. “ Intermediates ’’ 21.23 ,, “ Leavers ” ■ 12.10 ,, Objections tc) the examination of their children were m.ide liy three parents. Special Cases. When the Medical OlTiccr visits a school for the purpose of .Medical Inspection, advantage is taken of the opportunity to examine such children (not falling into either of the three classes, “Entrants,” “Intermediates,” or “Leavers”) as have been noticed by the teachers to he suffering from some palpable di.sease or defect. The total number of such children brought to the notice of the Medical Oflic'cr during the year was 126, an increase of 56 upon the number examined in 1918. A summary of the disca.ses and <lefects discovered will he found in 'fable 11. at the end of the Report. .Miscellaneous Examinations. These consist of children examined at the office and comprise such minor ailments as dirty and verminous conditions, ring- worm, impetigo, ^c.
