Description

Official copy (issued by the Intendant at the City of Mexico, Ramon Gutierrez del Mazo) of an order dated 1 2 March 1813 requiring suspension of quarantine measures following a favourable report of the Junta de Sanidad. The outbreak of the fevers of 181 3 in fact reached epidemic proportions in the city during April, from which more then 20,000 died in the city alone. [See Cooper (1965), pp. I 57- 182).
