    ( oe) some foundation for this opinion. Mookundha is the name given to the affection—the result of giving ratib while the animal is undergoing a course of earth for Lungun. It consists in a swelling of the abdomen, restlessness, and the symptoms of abdominal pain named under Vahee Golah. The animal looks heavy, and surface cold; and purging does not supervene. The disease is called Lungun, or fasting, because the animal is thus deprived of its ratib. Lungun or Lunganum being a Tamil term, signifying fasting, or going without food from necessity. TREATMENT.—Allow the animal to use the earth with a view to scour out the worms present. Afterwards a course of tonics with carminatives will prove useful in restoring the tone of the bowels.
