What you’ll do

Join the audience as Brian Lobel hosts a panel conversation with the ‘Hollyoaks’ team and series consultant Gary Carter to get a behind-the-scenes take on how they produce, cast and write stories about health and diversity, and how they work with charities to impact wider society.

We’ll be in the Henry Wellcome Auditorium. To get there, take the stairs or the lift down to level −1. The auditorium is fitted with a hearing loop.

Booking a ticket for a free event does not guarantee you a place. You should aim to arrive 15 minutes before the event is scheduled to start to claim your place. If you do not arrive on time, your place may be given to someone on the waiting list.

Brian Lobel

Host

Brian Lobel has been making performances for the past ten years, and has brought projects to a range of venues and contexts, including medical schools, cabarets, museums, forests, galleries and marketplaces. He creates performances about bodies: politicised bodies, marginalised bodies, dancing and singing bodies, happy bodies, sick bodies and bodies that need a little extra love.

Hannah Sowden

Speaker

Over the last ten years Hannah Sowden has overseen the creative execution of over 1,000 hours of continuing drama, including ‘Hollyoaks’ and ‘Coronation Street’. Currently Series Producer on ‘Hollyoaks’, Hannah’s passion is for telling socially responsible stories that both resonate and entertain.

Chloe Tucker

Speaker

Chloe Tucker is a Commissioner of Drama at Channel 4. Before taking this role, Tucker was a Channel 4 Script Editor working on programmes like ‘Fresh Meat’, ‘Babylon’, ‘My Mad Fat Diary’ and ‘The Aliens’. She has also worked for Company Pictures on ‘Skins’, for Shed on ‘Waterloo Road’, and for Tiger Aspect on ‘Secret Diary of a Call Girl’.

Kevin Rundle

Speaker

Kevin Rundle is a writer and story consultant working on long-running TV dramas. He has worked on shows such as ‘The Bill’, ‘Eastenders’ and ‘Casualty’. He is currently working as the Series Story Consultant on ‘Hollyoaks’. In that role, he writes episodes for the show and works closely with the producers to develop the long-term story plan and the overall creative vision.

Gary Carter

Speaker

Gary Carter is a European media executive with a background as a member of the senior leadership teams of international production and distribution companies, including Endemol, Fremantle, Shine Group, Endemol Shine Group and Nordic Entertainment Group.
