What you’ll do

Immerse yourself in the act of observation. Join art engager Claire Bown for a slow-looking session focusing on new photography artworks in the ‘Being Human’ gallery.

In this fun, communal event you’ll be invited to listen, look, observe, describe, make personal connections, come up with ideas, and ask questions. The more you look, the more you see. By focusing on details without distraction, you can develop a deeper understanding of artworks and the ideas they might represent to you and to others.

Slow looking is a form of active learning that allows everyone the opportunity to engage with art and objects on their own terms and at their own pace. You will leave with an understanding of slow looking and how you might do it on your own next time.
