What you’ll do

Join Deaf performance artist and BSL art guide Chisato Minamimura for a tour of ‘Being Human’.

Experience this thought-provoking space from a Deaf perspective and uncover unique stories about what it means to be human.

Chisato will guide you through the exhibition, introducing objects that spark conversations about identity, medical ethics, the future of humanity, and our search for perfection. Together, we’ll explore how ideas about health, science and the body shape our understanding of ourselves and each other.

The tour will consider how diseases and treatments are experienced across the world, and how our responses to illness and protection can differ – even when they look the same.

It will invite reflection on the many ways we define humanity and remind us that, ultimately, we have more in common that we might think.
