What you’ll do

Join us for a workshop to explore the lived experience of breastfeeding. In this theatre taster, you'll step into a character’s world by working through a script from 'Breast Monologues' by the American playwright, Robin Rice.

You'll read through the script, do some acting in pairs, then talk through your experience afterwards.

This event will explore themes of vulnerability, hope, fear and agency, and is aimed at people aged 16 and over. It is open to people of all genders, whether or not you have lived experience of breastfeeding.

There will be an optional script read-through at 17:00 for anyone who wishes to hear the content before the workshop starts. If you don’t need to hear the script ahead of time, you can turn up at 17:30, when the workshop will begin.

We can also send you an audio recording of the script before the event. If you'd like this, please email info@wellcomecollection.org to request this.

There will be a Chill-Out Room available with low lighting, comfortable seating, cushions, mats, ear defenders, earplugs and sensory toys.
