What you’ll do

Join us for a gallery tour and talk on the historical context of zines and zine-making.

We’ll begin in Gallery 3, with a 20-minute guided tour of ‘Zines Forever!’ focused on the origins of zines and impact of small press publishing outside of mainstream media. To get there, go up the stairs or take the lift to level 1.

Following the tour, researchers Finn Manders and Clara Searle will deliver a talk in the Viewing Room, exploring how zine-like qualities can be seen in other works within our collection. They’ll be showcasing materials from our special collections and discussing early modern to 20th-century materials, paper practices, and the political nature of zines.

You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with our researchers and library team during the material showcase.

If you require a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter, please use the form on Eventbrite to send us an access request when you book your ticket.
