What you’ll do

Join our Zine Club as they take over the building.

Discover the world of zines in a variety of events where you’ll be able to make, share, learn and connect with others.

Zines are DIY publications, often self-published, in which zine makers share their personal experiences of life, health and the human condition.

You’ll have a chance to create your own zine with invited zine makers, browse and read in a zine lounge, attend zine maker-led workshops and talks, tour around the ‘Zines Forever! DIY Publishing and Disability Justice’ display or drop in and 'Meet a Maker' in the Reading Room.

If you need a space away from the event at any time, you can go to our Chill-Out Rooms at The Studio on Level 1 and Wellcome Kitchen on Level 2. There will be low lighting, comfortable seating, cushions, mats and space to move around and be yourself. You can also make use of ear defenders, earplugs, stim toys and materials with different textures.

Resources

If you can't make the event and want to learn more, here are some ways to get involved:

  • Read 'how to zine' [PDF 7 MB] to learn more about the world of zines and use 'the zine of zine prompts' [PDF 416 KB] to inspire your own zine creation.
