The Coming of Age

Our new exhibition explores experiences and perceptions of ageing, from adolescence to older age, and asks how societies can adapt to ensure everyone ages better.

In focus

The Joy of Being Disabled

Explore what it means to be joyful, defiant and disabled. Guest edited by Amy Kavanagh, this series of five articles celebrates different bodies and minds, and challenges ableist ideas of what it means to be happy.

Books

We publish books that explore health and human experience. Our latest title, ‘The Coming of Age: Notes on Getting Older’, is an anthology on ageing, bringing together science, myth and essays by Angela Saini, Sharon Blackie and Venki Ramakrishnan.

Shop

The Wellcome Collection shop stocks unique books and gifts inspired by our collection and exhibition themes.
