However, thanks to the good offices of the Chief Public Health Inspector of Rhyl, we were able to dispose of limited amounts. Two new sheds have been built and a new baler put in to operation to replace those destroyed. The introduction of a system of quotas by the Mills also contributed to the lower output during 1956. It is hoped that efforts will continue to be made to salvage as much material as in the past, since the revenue from such a source can make a considerable contribution to the rate fund. Salvage paper is sold to The Thames Board Mills, all other materials such as rags and iron being disposed of locally. The saving of tipping space, together with the improved conditions of the Refuse Tip fully justifies the cost of separating and bailing.
