For domiciliary confinements the full establishment of staff is now in operation, comprising four midwives and a relief midwife. All have bo.;n provided with a car. 1949 saw the issue of Gas and Air machines for Analgesia to all midwivos, and it is hoped that the beginning of 1950 will see the issue of Hie new drug pethcdinc of these should prove a useful weapon in the fight for painless childbirth.
