The shortage of Medical Officers with its consequent result is to be regretted, and there is little hope of any improvement during the coming year as so many of the staff are long overdue for leave. It has been considered advisable for reasons of health to allow as many as possible to take their leave so that there will be some chance of a more or less normal number of the staff ready for duty by the end of the year. The Sub-Assistant Surgeons class has been greatly under strength.
