Time allowed for each test—five minutes. The speed of addition [4 (a)] was measured by the number of sums (groups of ten digits) worked in the given time, the accuracy of addition [4 (b)] by the per- centage of correct answers. In the case of the children, 4 (a) was measured by the number of digits added, marks being allowed for the part of a sum with which they usually ended. Results of Addition Test.
