The common method of applying bandages, and com- prefses on the eye, with the intention of keeping out the light, or preventing the motion of the lids, ought not to be adapted : fome also to prevent, or moderate the in- flammation, use poultices of various kinds, or cloths wet with FdifFerent articles, and bound on the eye, all of which are highly improper and injudicious,; for by confin- ing the tears, and increasing the heat of the part, as well as by their prefsure, they add much to the inflammation.
