Poliomyelitis. We were fortunate in having no confirmed case of poliomyelitis. During the year the vaccination of children in selected age groups was further extended, and it is hoped that a high percentage will soon he protected against this disease. -Diphtheria. Once again it is pleasing to report the absence of diphtheria and it is now over twelve years since a case was notified. Details supplied by the Local Health Authority show that during the year 1958, 271 children under five years of age were immunised against diphtheria and 159 children aged four to fifteen years were given a booster dose.
