    x with Tinctura Iodi Mitior or Codeinz Phosphas. The Maxi- mum Dose is 0'05 (gr. 5/5) pro dosi; o°15 (gr. 2%) pro die; the Minimum Fatal Dose t1’o (gr. 15). Advanced mitral stenosis, arterio-sclerosis, diabetes mellitus, epilepsy, Grave’s disease, heart weakness, hysteria and nephritis form serious counter-indications. Morphine Preparations, either Internally or Hypoder- ' mically, will have to be resorted to very often. The forma- tion of a morphine habit should be guarded against. The Meconate of Morphine will be found the most suitable, in doses of 0'008 to 0'03 (gr. % to %). The Maximum Dose is 0'03 (gr. %) pro dosi, o'ı (gr. 1%) pro die. The Minimum Fatal ase 1s 0° 2. (er, +3). ‘Lrivalinum, a liquid preparation, containing in one cc. o‘o19 of Morphine Valerianate, 0°0037 of Caffeine Valerianate and 0'005 of Cocaine Valerianate. It may with advantage be used instead of Morphine during most crises, so that only in the most severe cases the employment of Morphine will be found indispensable. Trivalin may be given Internally or Hypodermically, in doses of 0’5 to 1'0 (min 7% to 15) pro dosi, 3.0 to 4°0 (min. 45 to 60) pro die. When the attack is nearly over, Sumbul (or Musk Root) may be given as a sedative and bitter tonic in average doses of 2°0 (dr. %), and followed up by a course of treatment by Arsentriferrolum. Arsentriferrol contains: 16 per cent. Iron, 2 per cent. Phosphorus, 14 per cent. Arsenious Acid and 6°6 per cent. Nitrogen; it may be given in doses of 15'0 (oz. %) thrice daily, after meals. Generous roburating diet after a gastric crisis 1s necessary in order to restore the patient to his usual strength. | Galvanic or Faradic Applications over the region of the stomach have often proved of benefit, and in favourable cases may even cut short a gastric crisis. The application of Hot or Cold Wet Compresses, or of Mustard Leaves, generally fails to give any but a passing relief. 2, Antineuralgic and Analgesic Treatment.
