I General Observations.—The total number of new cases (exclusive of con- tacts) examined during the year was 1,220, giving a percentage of definite cases of approximately 21 2. The corresponding figures for the previous year were 1,034 and 18'3 respectively. The total number of contacts examined was 270, with a percentage of approximately 8 definite cases. The corresponding figures for the previous year were 390, and 1 9 respec- tively. The total number of attendances at the Institute and visiting stations was 5,979, being an increase of 245 on the figures of the previous year.
