About this work
Description
Dr. Rhona MacKie, Professor of Dermatology, Glasgow University, discusses the increase in melanoma cases in Britain over the last 10 years arising from changes to the ozone layer. Atmospheric changes are explained in detail; two patients are featured, one whose melanoma test proves negative and one who is fighting the illness; and Britain's rather relaxed attitude to the dangers of sunbathing is contrasted with the comprehensive protection measures taken in Sydney, Australia.
