THORENS GUNS BTU TOE The view of Primrose Hill shown below originally contained the few derelict houses that existed on the Bebington fringe of the Estate, and shows the pretty houses which have replaced them. The transformation effected on this site is typical of that made over the whole Estate, on which the desert place has been made ‘“‘ to blossom like the rose.”’ PRIMROSE HILL—TO-DAY FREE SITES.—On roth September, 1923, the late Lord Leverhulme announced his intention of providing free building sites to all who desired to build their own houses. Assisted by this gift, 150 employees and others now own detached or semi-detached houses with gardens, each built specially to the owner’s chosen design on the Edgeworth Estate, immediately adjoining and to the west of Port Sunlight.
