    GENERAL.—The Committee desire to thank the following kind friends and helpers :— The Wirral Needlework Guild for 50 garments, per Miss Beausire. The voluntary Helpers at the Tuesday clinic :—the Misses Blood, Miss Williams, Mrs. Webster and Mrs. Johnson. Mr. Cheshire, who kindly prints a good deal of matter for the Hospital. The Hon. Auditors, Messrs. Nickels & Peake. The Hon. Chaplain, Rev. J. Hughes. The Committee wish to take this opportunity of thanking the Medical Staff, who give their time and skill in instinted measure to the work carried on at the Hospital. It is specially desired to record the Committee’s appre¬ ciation of the Matron’s unsparing devotion to the service of the Hospital: the duties and responsibilities thrown upon her have increased very much during the past three or four years and she has met them with courage and capability. She is ably supported by the Staff, to whom the Committee also wish to express their sincere thanks. In considering the general situation it may be reflected that, as with the Nation at large, so in the Hospital world, the traditions of the past justify a reasonable optimism for the future, which, coupled with a determination to use the resources at their command to the best possible advantage, should fortify those bearing responsibility in their task of carrying on till the advent of better times.
