    The X-Ray Department. The Medical Board desire to record their appreciation of the most generous way in which Mrs, Graham Rees-Mogg 1ms re-equipped this department with up-to-date apparatus at a cost of about ^700. There is an increase in the number of patients. A note from the patient’s medical attendant should in every case be sent, and only the most urgent cases should attend without previous notice. Massage and Electrical Department. This depart¬ ment has been further improved by the addition of Ultra- Violet Kay Lamps. The work here is heavy—4729 treatments were given in the past year. Ophthalmic Department. The ophthalmic benefits provided by the National Health Approved Societies has decreased the work in this department, 340 patients weie treated and 545 attendances were made. 108 children attended for refractions. Dental Department. The work in this department is well maintained. Although the number of patients who attended is less, the number of dentures supplied was 55 as compared with 44 in the previous year. The Generai, Out-Patient Department. 'There is a slight decrease in the number of patients in this depart¬ ment, but the number of casualties attending for first-aid increases year by year. 'Training of Probationers. The arrangement with the Horton General Hospital, Banbury, by which we shared the services of a Sister-Tutor tei initiated on May 31st, and the Medical Board then decided to combine two posts in the nursing department of this Hospital. Accordingly a Sister- Tutor and Theatre-Sister was engaged. Acciden ts. 96 accidents were admitted during the year, 50 being motor casualties. These cases greatly increase the work of the Medical Staff and more especially that of the Nursing Staff. 'The growing number of accidents on the road emphasizes the necessity for an organized system by which Hospitals can be relieved of the heavy strain on their accommodation and resources.
