    G agreements that may be entered into by the Committee from time to time. TREASURER. 1. The Treasurer of each Asylum and of the Asylums Common Fund shall give such security as may be required from time to time by the Sub-Committee of such Asylum. 2. He shall make no payments except upon cheques drawn by not less than 2 of the Sub-Committee and countersigned by the Clerk of the Asylum or in the case of the Common Fund by the Accounting Officer. MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT. 1. The Medical Superintendent shall be duly registered to practice in Medicine and Surgery according to the Act of the 21st and 22nd Vic. cap. 90, intituled “ An Act to regulate the qualification of Practitioners in Medicine and Surgery.” 2. He shall have paramount authority in the Asylum subject to that of the Sub-Committee, and shall have the general direction and control of all the medical and general staff of officers and servants, with power to suspend any of them for misconduct, such suspension to be reported to the Sub- Committee at their next meeting for confirmation. He shall have power to arrange provisionally for the discharge of the duties of the persons so suspended, but only until the next meeting of the Sub-Committee. 8. He shall not have power to authorise any expenditure in connection with the repair or alteration of the building, but, if he deem any repair or alteration necessary he shall give notice to the officer responsible for the maintenance of the structure who will act in accordance with the rules laid down for carrying out repairs. 4. He shall be resident in the Asylum, and shall be responsible for and have the direction of all that concerns the Medical and Surgical treatment of the patients, and their manage- ment, exercise, amusements, employments and medical classi- fication, subject to the regulations of the Asylum and the orders of the Sub-Committee. He shall not practise out of the Asylum, nor be employed professionally in any way unconnected with his office, except that he may visit at the request of a Secretary of State or the Solicitor to His Majesty’s Treasury any person charged with a capital offence, examining into his mental condition, reporting, and if required giving evidence thereon, and he may also execute at the request of the Commissioners in
