    12. He shall receive and thoroughly examine, or take care that an Assistant Medical Officer receives and thoroughly examines each patient on admission and shall invite the presence at such examination of the officer or officers by whom the patient is brought to the Asylum (with due regard to the sex of the patient), and record the result of such examination at the time in a book to be kept for that purpose. He shall specially report to the Sub-Committee all cases of patients received at the Asylum in restraint, or who are dirty, or suffer ing from wounds or bruises, or who are in a bodily condition which in his opinion, should have prohibited their removal or any extraordinary circumstance requiring special notice, and shall call the attention of the officers who brought the patients to any such fact before they leave the Asylum. 18. He shall enter on separate cards the names of all the patients in every ward on each side of the Asylum who may be suicidal or subject to tuberculosis, dysentery, or any particular disease or habits that require special attention, or cause such names to be entered by the Assistant Medical Officers under his superintendence and responsibility, and such cards shall be delivered to the ward attendants of each ward for their instruc- tion and shail be preserved and referred to by them, and such cards shall be from time to time corrected with every change of patients in any ward. 14. He shall cause the Weekly Medical Journals, Register of Mechanical Restraint, Casualty Book and the Case Books to be regularly laid before the Sub-Committee at every meeting for inspection. 15. He shall carefully select the patients to be allowed to attend meetings, re-unions or other entertainments, and shall take every possible care that the patients whilst so assembled are under proper superintendence and control, and shall report such meetings to the Sub-Committee. 16. He shall allow every patient of a religious persuasion differing from that of the Established Church, at the special request of such patient, or of his or her friends, to be visited at reasonable times by a minister of such persuasion whenever, in his opinion, such visits will not be prejudicial. 17. He shall when requested, act as Physician to the Resident Officers, and personally, or by an Assistant Medical Officer, visit and administer in case of sickness to any Ward Attendant or Servant resident in the Asylum or in cottages provided for them on the Estate, and shall in like manner, if required by the Sub-Committee, attend any person employed in
