    more often, if required, prepare an account of all stock, stores and provisions, in order that the same may be checked and certified by the Sub-Committee or the person they may appoint for the purpose, it being understood that, for the purposes of stock-taking in the female wards, this duty shall be performed by the Matron, and on the farm and grounds by the farm bailiff, and the result of same reported to him. 10. He shall prepare and lay before the Sub-Committee at every meeting an account of such articles in the Requisition Book as may be wanted for the Asylum with an approximate estimate where such articles are not under contract, and shall not order such articles without the written sanction of the Sub- Committee present at such meeting, unless they are urgently required by the Medical Superintendent and ordered by him in writing. 11. He shall be responsible for the proper distribution of all provisions to the wards, and shall take care that no person, except the officers of the Asylum or attendants, remain in the kitchen whilst the provisions are being cut or served up. 12. He shall keep in a book to be laid before the Sub- Committee at their first meetings in January and July in each year, an inventory of all household goods, fixtures, furniture, dead and live stock, utensils and other effects of the Asylum, and an account of all additions and alterations made therein. 13. He shall keep accounts of the live stock, farm and all the produce thereof, and their appropriation, the particulars of which are to be supplied to him by the farm bailiff; he shall also have charge of the various workshops in connection with the Asylum (except the engineer’s workshop) and the workmen employed therein. 14. He shall not receive any money for sales connected with his department, and all such money shall be paid directly to the Clerk of the Asylum, who shall be held accountable for the same. 15. He shall on no consideration issue to any person in the establishment any article of consumption beyond the ordinary rations, nor supply to any ward any rations beyond the quantity originally weighed out, unless under the written order of one of the Resident Medical Officers, the cause for the same to be specially reported to the Sub-Committee at their next meeting. 16. He shall make up the wages lists of the workmen other than those employed on the farm and garden.
