Various natters in capacity of Billeting Officer, Wator_ Supplies^ Tho water supply throughout the year was satisfactory both as regards quality and quantity,Tne water is taker, fron a stream which lias it * s source in upland surface and spring water .It is then convoyed to a largo open storage reservoir and thon through slow sand filtration filters to a snail clear water chant) or .After this tho water is chlorinated. During tho year, a considerable inprovorient was nado in the filter beds both as regards tho total area and tho depth of filtering material and the pressure to tho j ighor reaches of tho Borough was improved by the duplication of approximately 1000 foot of 8 inch main. Careful daily chocks were made of tho chlorination procoss which has proved satisfactory throughout tho year. In order to test the efficiency of tho new filter bods a bacteriological examination was made of tho filtered and unfiltorod water.As a result of this tho water supply was proved to be of excellent quality,No chonical examination was made. Tho water has no plunbo-solvent action. Tho supply is constant and all tho houses supplied from the waterworks have a tapped supply,there being no standpipes. There are fourteen houses and farms in tho outlying parts of the Borough which.have their own private supply this being tho same as in tho previous year.
