About two Years before we confulted Mr. Guy, my .Sifter, Mrs. Mclhora Ayleti, was troubled with a Pain in her Breaft, which was discovered to proceed from a iwelled Gland juft under the Nipple, for which bleeding, and laxative Medicines were adminiftered very fre¬ quently, and likewife an Iffue made in the Arm. The Breaft, with the Nipple, after¬ wards contracted, and drawed in, more and more, until the Swelling gradually became of the Size of a large Hens Egg, difcoloured, perfectly cancerous, and fcarcely moveable from the Ribs. I confulted another Surgeon on the Gccafion, as we had the more Reafon to fear bad Confequences from the unhappy Fate of her Mother, who died of the fame Diforder, and feeing the like Misfortune com¬ ing on my Sifter apace, I was defirous of her coming to London to be under Mr. Guy\ Di- redtions: He very kindly undertook her Cure, though difcouraged by fome Appearance of its having before been in the Family; yet in Con- fequence of his Skill in the Treatment of her Cafe, fhe received a perfedt Cure in little more than two Months Time.
