    Historical introduction. AN INVESTIGATION OF THE MORE REMARKABLE CAUSES WHICH HAVE, IN DIFFERENT AGES, OPE- RATED IN PRODUCING THE REVOLUTIONS THAT CHARACTERISE THE HISTORY OF MEDICINAL SUBSTANCES.
