![Technical appointments macle during the year include a Pharmacist and full-time- jladiographcr. The Physiotherapy Department and Lahoratory have continued to v7ork under pressure and although one vacancy in the former department exists, susta.incd efforts to find a suitalile applicant have been unsuccessful. Structural Im-provoments. Alterations. etc. Internal a.nd external painting of the whole of t]ie hospital has been carrl.od out. Adaptations etc., as follows, have been considered and are awaiting execution - (a) Extension of the Pharmacy. (b) Provision of 32 surgeons’ v/ashbasins in the waivls. Twe small outbreaks of infectious disease, one of pemphigus and one of diarrhoea have occurred. Mr,VJ.Padloy Vann. There has been a slight decrease in the number patients admitted during the year, but the typo of case admitted approxima.te more closely to that desired, i.e. acute cases. The number of West Pidihg cases admitted has shown a dccreas this being mainly due to the co’.Ginued use of the emergency hutment for Prisoners of War. The co'-voys of British servico personnol ceased entirely owing to expansion of the Prisoner of 'Yar accoxmmo- dation at the request of the li.nistry of Heakth. Valuable exiperience has, however, been gained from the German patients and staff.
