    Spermatic Cord, fo as to make it a didind; Bag : This upper part of the Bag which embraces the Cord, being confidered as dividing the 'Tunica Vaginalis of the Tefticle from the Tu¬ nica Vaginalis of the Cord, is therefore named the Septum of the Tunic ce Vagi nates : And as thefe Coats have been fuppofed to arife from the Peritonaeum^ they havp in all Ages, been likewife called the ProceJJus Peritoncei. 1 S o m e of the Moderns knowing that the Tunica Vaginalis arifes abfolutely on the Outfide of the Peritonaeum, have thought it improbable that the Vifcera fliould infinuate thenifelves within its Cavity, and have imagined that the Herniary Sac lies on the Outfide of the Tunica Vaginalis between it and the Membrana Adi- pofa-, but they are miftaken, if not always, at lead: for the mod part, becaufe the inveding Membrane of the Tunica Vaginalis, arifing from the Circumference of the Rings of the Abdominal Mufcles, as I have jud now men¬ tioned, does necefiarily by that Situation lie > open to receive the defending Vifcera ; in confequence of which, the Vifcera and Sac infinuate themfelves within the Tunica Vagi¬ nalis of the Cord, lying upon the Tunica Vagi- I Vide VerducV Operationsy Chapter on the SharpV Operationsf Chapter on the Bubonocele, Bubonocele, \ nalis
