This Ope¬ ration is likewife abfolutely exploded by the Moderns, but I am inclined to think it would generally prove fuccefsful, if it was p radii fed with the following Improvements, which is very little different from the Method followed by Party 6, Wifeman 7, and others, who fee in to favour this Operation. When the Proceffus Peritoncei is laid bare by the longitudinal Incifion, and the Membrdm AdipoJ'a a little differed away, fo that the Procefs may be freely taken up between the Finger and Thumb of the left Hand, I would advife the fame kind of Suture with the above- mentioned one, only, that every Stitch fhould be carried from the Procefs through the Skin on that Side next the Penis, and be 3gain re¬ turned from the Skin through the Procefs; whether the Suture be carried from above downwards, or from below upwards, that Por¬ tion of the Procefs clofe to the Rings, mu ft be fewed in almofl its whole Diameter to the Skin, otherwife the Vifcera may fiill protrude. When the Procefs is thus attached in its lower Part to the Skin, all that Portion of it above the Courfe of the Suture (which I prefume fhould be an Inch and a half long) may be cut olf 6 Book S.
